Ala-too International University Joins d-HRD Institute for GS Network

The Digital Human Resource Development Institute for Global South (d-HRD Institute for GS) welcomed Ala-too International University (AIU) from Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, as its first member institution in the country. The signing ceremony at AIU’s main campus marked a significant milestone in expanding digital education initiatives in Central Asia.
At the ceremony, AIU’s President emphasized the university’s commitment to digital transformation and highlighted its existing programs. The partnership will establish AIU as a hub for digital transformation in Bishkek, focusing on innovative educational programs, industry-academia collaboration, and a center of excellence for digital skills training.




Prior to the ceremony, on 2 April 2025, Prof. Mitsuhiro MAEDA and Dr. Masamu KAMAGA presented their innovative educational initiatives, showcasing successful outcomes from their model case at Kirirom Institute of Technology in Cambodia. They shared insights on curriculum development, technological integration, and student engagement strategies with the leadership team and faculty members. The presentation demonstrated proven methodologies for transforming traditional education into modern, digitally-enhanced learning experiences.




Prof. MAEDA, Dr. KAMAGA, and Mr. NAKAGAWA then led an engaging session with first-year AIU students, discussing educational initiatives and opportunities for involvement in digital transformation projects. This interactive presentation helped students understand the institute’s vision and its practical applications in digital human resource development.
The collaboration will involve multiple key initiatives and activities spanning various areas of digital transformation and educational development.

Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University (KUIU) in Osh, Kyrgyz Republic, formalized its membership with d-HRD Institute for GS through a signing ceremony attended by university leadership. This collaboration aims to strengthen digital education resources in southern Kyrgyzstan and promote cross-border educational initiatives.



The partnership agreement encompasses a comprehensive range of collaborative activities and initiatives that will be implemented across various domains of digital transformation and educational development.
Prior to the formal signing ceremony, preliminary discussions between the d-HRD Institute for GS and KUIU’s top management took place on 28 March 2025. During this initial meeting, both parties explored potential areas of collaboration, discussed shared objectives in digital education, and outlined the framework for their comprehensive partnership agreement. The productive dialogue established a strong foundation for the formal partnership.


Dr. Masamu KAMAGA delivered an extensive presentation on innovative educational initiatives, showcasing the successful implementation and transformative outcomes achieved at Kirirom Institute of Technology in Cambodia. During this comprehensive session, he shared detailed insights about curriculum development strategies, technological integration approaches, and effective teaching methodologies with the dean, distinguished faculty members, and engaged students of the Faculty of Engineering. The presentation highlighted specific examples of how digital transformation initiatives have enhanced the learning experience and prepared students for the evolving demands of the technology sector.



KUIU will serve as a crucial link in developing digital skills and promoting technological innovation, connecting educational institutions across Central Asian borders. The university’s strategic location makes it an ideal hub for facilitating cross-border collaboration in digital education initiatives.

In a significant development for digital education in Indonesia, Maranatha Christian University (MCU) in Bandung has formally joined the d-HRD Institute for GS network through an official signing ceremony as the first member in the country. This strategic partnership establishes MCU as a fundamental institution for spearheading digital transformation initiatives in West Java, a region widely recognized as Indonesia’s prominent technology and education hub. The collaboration marks a crucial step in advancing digital literacy and technological innovation in the Indonesian education sector.


The prestigious ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished representatives from MCU’s top management. During the event, MCU’s President delivered an inspiring address, articulating the university’s ambitious vision to establish itself as a premier institution in digital education and technological innovation, not only within Southeast Asia but also on the global stage. The President emphasized MCU’s commitment to fostering an environment of digital excellence and continuous innovation in academic practices.


The comprehensive collaboration framework will encompass numerous activities and initiatives across multiple strategic areas, which will be implemented gradually throughout the partnership.
